POP . . . plus

Battlefield Band: Scottish traditional musicians mix a lot of the old with a bit of the new - bagpipes, fiddle, guitars and bodran plus synthesizers, too. This tour round, they're bidding farewell to 30-year-vet Alan Reid and welcoming young Ewan Henderson into the fold. Sellersville Theater, Main and Temple streets, Sellersville, 8 tonight, $25-$39.50, 215-257-5808, www.st94.com.

Robert Randolph and the Family Band: He started out playing "sacred steel" guitar in church services. Now Randolph's jamming, testifying gospel, southern blues and rock are lifting all boats and spirits, TLA, 334 South St., 9 tonight, $28, 800-745-3000, livenation.com.

Story continues below.

Tuung: The creamy alt-pop overfloweth on this bill, with aid and comfort also provided by the 1900s (think Belle and Sebastian go Chicago) and Buried Beds. Johnny Brenda's, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9:30 tonight, $12, 215-739-9684, johnnybrendas.com.

Chuck Prophet: Long one of our favorite alt-country-rock artists (harking back to his Green on Red days), the grumbling Chuck is still spinning surreal, prophet-of-doom scenarios like nobody's business. Stephanie Finch (whose recent and very good album Prophet produced) opens. World Cafe Live, 3025 Walnut St., 8 tonight, $24-$34, 215-222-1400, www.worldcafelive.com.

Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez and Steel Mill: Bruce Springsteen's original drummer (first two albums) works out with remnants of their (pre-E-Street) glory days band. Record Collector, 358 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, N.J., 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, $10, 609-324-0880, the-record-collector.com.

The Subdudes: Laidback Southern soulsters live up to their name. And the sweet trilling opening Angel Band also speaks/sings for themselves. World Cafe Live, 3025 Walnut St., 8 p.m. tomorrow, $30-$42, 215-222-1400, worldcafelive.com.

The Autumn Defense: Warm harmonizing popsters John Stirratt (Wilco, Uncle Tupelo)and Pat Sansone offer sunny variations on the themes of Difford/Tilbrook, Lennon/McCartney, Simon/Garfunkel. Let down your guard! With Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion. Tin Angel, 20 S. 2nd St., 10:30 p.m. tomorrow, $15, 215-928-0978, www.tinangel.com.

Ani DiFranco: Spitfire folkie rallies the troops. And opener Melissa Ferrick underscores the feminist angle. Keswick Theatre, Easton Road and Keswick Avenue. Glenside, 8 p.m. tomorrow, $25, $35, $45, 215-572-7650, keswicktheatre.com.
