Romayne Lieber Sachs, 79, of Bala Cynwyd, admissions director at the Oak Lane Day School in the 1980s, died of lung cancer Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse in Center City.
Much of Mrs. Sachs' career involved helping students, said her husband, David.
From 1990 to 1995, she was program coordinator for Philadelphia Futures, whose website states that it "prepares students from low-income families to enter and succeed in college by providing mentoring, academic enrichment, college guidance, and financial incentives."
Born in Scranton, Mrs. Sachs graduated from Scranton Central High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science at the University of Pennsylvania in 1952.
