Letters: Crystal Dawejko, my beloved cousin

January 07, 2011

I'M WRITING on behalf of my dear cousin, Crystal Dawejko, whose body was found in a Kensington rowhome on Christmas Eve.

I want people to know that she wasn't just "another body found." She was a very funny, charismatic, daring individual before she took on the life that resulted in her ultimate demise. She had many friends who cared about her deeply.

I couldn't be happier that it wasn't the man known as the "Kensington Strangler" who took her life, but when everyone thought it was, her story was put all over the news.

Story continues below.

I don't want her to be remembered as the girl who was mistaken for another victim of the Strangler. She was my dear cousin, my friend, my family. The world has lost another angel in the worst way possible. I love you, Crystal. May you rest in peace.

Vick & the president

Re the op-ed by Francis Battista of Best Friends Animal Society about the call from President Obama where he thanked the Eagles for giving Michael Vick a second chance.

Thanks to Best Friends and other organizations who gave the dogs a second chance. I'm sick of Vick. He could care less about the well–being of those dogs. Had he not got caught, he'd still be fighting dogs.

Don't tell me to read the bible because I need to learn how to forgive or tell me not to be judgmental because you are judging me by saying that I am judging him.

Kim Lisacek, Philadelphia

Mr. President, with all due respect, can't you see what Mr. Vick is all about?

Mr. Vick, look in the million-dollar mirror and ask yourself if people can really forgive you for what you've done. I can't.

To all the Eagles fans who root Mr. Vick on, think about this: If Mr. Vick personally hurt or killed your dog, would you forgive him?
