"Love is a familiar. Love is a devil. There is no evil angel but Love." No words were ever spoken truer than these hard truisms from the Bard. They're words beloved American poet Ashlee Simpson and troubadour Pete Wentz, 31, can take to heart. That is, if their respective pumps aren't too broken. The couple said Wednesday that they are taking an express train to DivorceLand, there to join the dozens upon hundreds of other divorced celebs. (They lasted a whole 32 months - a decade in celeb time.)

Ash, 26, cites irreconcilable differences in papers filed in L.A. Superior Court, says TMZ. She seeks spousal support for the couple's 2-year-old son, Bronx.

Story continues below.

The couple have consistently sung in praise of the silky yet adamantine thread that joined their souls. What broke that delicate thread? Adultery? Abuse?

Like, no way, Anonymous Insider tells People. "It's very amicable," the source says. "They've been growing apart for quite some time." You know, like potted plants do.LiLo faces the music

She whiled away the hours before her arraignment getting her hair done.

Observers said she seemed unconcerned by her possible fate - a long stretch behind bars. But Lindsay Lohan, who was charged with one count of felony grand theft Wednesday in a LaLaLand court, was all fear 'n' trembling on the inside.

"Lindsay was asking us to pray for her," Anonymous LiLo Pal tells FoxNews.com.

LiLo, who is accused of lifting a $2,500 "one-of-a-kind" necklace from a shop in Venice, Calif., pleaded not guilty before Superior Court Judge Keith L. Schwartz, who set bail at $40,000 but warned that he would revoke it if she was accused of breaking the law again.

The actress, who is still on probation from an '07 DUI conviction, may land behind bars again. One legal eagle tells FoxNews.com she could get "16 months to two years." TMZ says LiLo had more than enough cash on her to buy the necklace.

LiLo's not new to theft allegations. She's been accused a handful of times of stealing - an $11,000 mink coat in '08; a dollop of Dior jewelry from an Elle photo shoot in '09; a $35,000 Rolex watch last year.

But she was never charged.

From the first blush . . .

Love blooms.
