Philly is a reality-show nexus and all, but what were the chances of Tuesday's on-the-street meetup of Reid Rosenthal, the Rittenhouse Square Realtor who was booted off The Bachelorette a year ago, and Ashley Hebert, the University of Pennsylvania dental student who was shown the door Monday night on The Bachelor?

No sparks flew in what Rosenthal described as a random encounter outside the 10 Rittenhouse high-rise on 18th Street near Walnut, where he was showing a condo.

Rosenthal is dating Kristen Dalton, a former Miss USA.

His latest leisure-time pursuit is drumming up votes for a social-media contest run by Pop Chips to appoint a "vice president" to work with the snack-food company's "president of pop culture," Ashton Kutcher. Rosenthal, who promises to donate $3,000 of the $50,000 prize to charity, created a promo video that was shot on Rittenhouse Square, in Reading Terminal Market, and outside the Comcast Center. It's at www.philly.com/popchips.

Radio activity

Brian Baldinger starts Monday with Harry Mayes as a sports talker from 10 a.m. to noon weekdays on 97.5 the Fanatic. Baldinger, who lived in Cherry Hill as a kid and played in 1992-93 for the Eagles, is an NFL game analyst for Compass Media Networks and an analyst for NFL Network. The time slot has been empty since John Gonzalez and Vai Sikahema left last year.

WDAS (105.3) will remember Teena Marie, who died in December, with a special airing from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday featuring her music and interviews with Patty Jackson.

Competition

Philly area natives Kathryn Grant and David Bar Katz are among the six finalists for the Harold and Mimi Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award, honoring playwrights for the best scripts that premiered professionally outside New York. Grant's The Good Counselor is about an African American lawyer defending a white racist charged with murdering her 3-week-old baby. Katz's The History of Invulnerability uses the life of Superman cocreator Jerry Siegel to explore the roots of art and how it relates to the world. Prize will be awarded April 2.

Susie Celek, wife of Eagles tight end Brent Celek, will use the nom de guerre "Monarch I" as she boxes legal secretary Wendy "Fabulous Fierce" Burke on Saturday at the Sporting Club at the Bellevue. The evening's coed fight card, starting at 6 p.m., is stocked with members who have been conditioning since early January with the club's Clif Johnson and Walt Moura. The $25 admission (www.sportingclubbellevue.com) benefits Students Run Philly Style.
