A former DWTS contestant, football star Chad Ochocinco, is not rushing to the altar with Basketball Wives' Evelyn Lozado (actually a former NBA girlfriend). They got engaged after four months of dating, but, according to People.com, don't expect this blended family to be bonded by a ceremony any time soon. Subdued festivities
Some of Asia's top filmmakers screened new movies to launch the 35th Hong Kong International Film Festival on Sunday, although the mood was subdued because of Japan's earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disasters. Japan's crisis cast doubt on whether its actors and directors will attend. Director Shunji Iwai, a native of hard-hit Sendai, has canceled his appearance at the Asian premiere of his first English-language movie, Vampire. It remained unclear whether prominent Japanese nominees including Koji Yakusho, Rinko Kikuchi, and Takako Matsu will attend the awards ceremony, the Asian Film Awards, on Monday. A delegation from the Tokyo International Film Festival, however, attended Sunday's opening ceremony.
Weekend box office
The sci-fi thriller Limitless was unstoppable, opening at No. 1 and bringing in $19 million. The film, shot in Philadelphia, stars Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper as a struggling writer who takes a magical pill that allows him to tap into his maximum brain potential. The previous No. 1, the alien-invasion movie Battle: Los Angeles, fell to third place, at $14.6 million. The animated Western Rango was second, with The Lincoln Lawyer fourth and Paul fifth.
