An 11-year police veteran was arrested yesterday on charges of simple assault and reckless endangerment.
The charges against James Graber Jr. stem from a dispute he had in a pub with his estranged wife on Feb. 19 while he was off duty, police said in a release.
Graber, 36, was escorted by security from a bar on Frankford Avenue near Meridian after a verbal dispute with the woman, police said.
He returned later and punched his wife in the face, police said.
The Internal Affairs Bureau and the District Attorney's Office investigated the case. Police said Graber, who was assigned to the Bomb Disposal Unit, has been suspended for 30 days with Commissioner Charles Ramsey looking to dismiss him.
