For pizza-delivery robbers, 3 slices and they're out

An unlucky pizza deliveryman who was held up at gunpoint three times in two weeks by the same robbers finally has some peace of mind after cops arrested two of the suspects, police said.

The 37-year-old Accu Pizza deliveryman's string of bad luck began March 12, when he was robbed at gunpoint of his pizza and $300 by four males on Angora Terrace near 60th Street, in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.

Just a week later, the same deliveryman was on Webster Street near 54th when he was again robbed by four thugs at gunpoint, police said. This time, they left him with his food but stole $70 and his cellphone. As they walked away, the victim followed the men, and one turned and shot at him but missed, police said.

Still, he remained on the job and on March 25, while delivering to Fernwood Street near 58th, two males robbed him at gunpoint and took his new cellphone, $90 and the food, police said.

Two days later, two officers stopped a pair of juveniles for violating curfew on Alden Street near Washington Avenue, in West Philly, police said.

One of the boys ran, but the other stayed and complied with police demands for information that included his phone number, which the cops recognized as the number behind the delivery calls that resulted in the robberies, police said.

That boy, who is 15, was arrested and the other boy, 14, was later arrested at his home and found to be in possession of a BB gun that looked like a handgun, police said. Police had no information on the other two people involved in the robberies.

The teens, whose names were not released, were charged with robbery, aggravated assault and related offenses.
