Notre Dame tops Villa Maria in lacrosse

It usually takes a monsoon to postpone a lacrosse game. So in a light rain Thursday, the girls took the field.

Notre Dame got four goals each from Kristen Bandos and Carlianne McCabe and handled visiting Villa Maria, 15-7, in a nonleague game.

Bandos also assisted on a pair of goals.

Central. Jess Schwab led a balanced Harriton scoring attack with a hat trick, and the Rams downed host Strath Haven, 11-8.

Suburban One Continental. Kelly Hamilton struck for five goals and three assists as Central Bucks South dumped visiting Central Bucks West, 17-8.

Catholic Academies. Olivia Gannon struck for six goals and led Mount St. Joseph past host Villa Joseph Marie, 17-5.

Boys' Lacrosse

Jeff Novak scored his only goal of the game with 1 minute, 23 seconds left and handed Westtown a 5-4, nonleague win over host Devon Prep.

Turner Simon picked up two goals and one assist as Kennett beat host Interboro, 7-4.

Archbishop Wood got hat tricks from Chandler Grasela and Chris Rahill and beat host Central Bucks South, 15-8.

Central. Connor Frisina earned a hat trick and led Conestoga to an 11-3 win over host Penncrest.

Charlie Rubin notched a hat trick and helped Radnor beat host Marple Newtown, 12-4.

Ridley got two goals each from Kyle Bush, Jim Gormley, Kelton Heverly, and Eric Streicher and beat host Lower Merion, 13-2.

Baseball

Chris Hens belted a three-run walk-off homer with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning and gave Hatboro-Horsham a 5-3 win over visiting Central Bucks South.

Central. Norm Donkin struck out nine in five innings and Phil McMenamin ripped a two-run double to lead Ridley past visiting Lower Merion, 4-0.

Chris Keenan hit a double and two singles for Strath Haven in a 6-2 win over visiting Radnor.

Bicentennial. Andrew Whitten hit a bases-loaded double in the fourth inning and boosted Holy Ghost Prep to a 5-0 win over visiting Phil-Mont Christian.

John Laprise hit a single, a double, and knocked in two runs as Devon Prep beat visiting Calvary Christian, 6-0.

Ryan Blough drove in five runs with a pair of singles and led Christopher Dock to a 14-6 win over visiting Plumstead Christian.

Nonleague. In Vero Beach, Fla., Episcopal Academy got three doubles from Joe Flannery as the Churchmen downed Marysville (Minnnesota), 14-5.

In the second game of a doubleheader in Vero Beach, Fla., Robbie Ibarguen hit a walk-off, two-run double as Episcopal beat Urbana (Ohio), 5-4.

Winning pitcher Alex Rhoads helped himself with a double and a home run as Solebury School beat visiting Mercy Vocational, 13-4.

Aaron Novak hit two homers, a double, and drove in six runs as German town Academy topped host Pennsbury, 14-3.

Girls' Soccer

Saynou Sore picked up a pair of goals and led University City past visiting Palmer, 4-1, in a Public League match.

Softball

Haileigh Stocks smacked three singles and drove in a pair of runs as Central Bucks South beat host Emmaus, 16-5, in a nonleague game.

Kellianna Bradstreet struck out six and helped herself with three singles as North Penn downed host Upper Dublin, 11-2.
