Carroll's Green named Class AAA Player of the Year

Archbishop Carroll High senior wing guard Juan'ya Green has been selected Class AAA Player of the Year by the Associated Press.

Green was joined on the AAA all-state basketball team by Ss. Neumann-Goretti senior point guard Lamin Fulton and Dobbins Tech senior center Jerrell Wright.

Two other City Leagues players were named first-team all-state: Imhotep Charter seniors David Appolon (guard) and Ameen Tanksley (guard) in Class AA.

Other City Leagues players selected for all-state honors were:

AAAA second team, La Salle senior point guard Eddie Mitchell.

Class AAA second team, Neumann-Goretti sophomore forward John Davis, Archbishop Wood senior guard Joe Getz and Malvern Prep junior guard/forward Brendan Kilpatrick; Class AAA third team, Neumann-Goretti junior forward/center Derrick Stewart.

Class AA second team, Imhotep Charter senior center Erik Copes and Germantown Academy senior guard Jimmy Hammer; Class AA third team, Communications Tech junior guard Rich Hoskins.

Class A second team, Math, Civics & Sciences senior guard Warren Dogan, MC & S sophomore guard/forward Jeremiah Worthem, Constitution senior forward Xavier Harris and Constitution junior guard Daiquan Walker; Class A third team, World Communications senior guard Markeith Mont.

Two Villanova recruits were honored: junior point guard Ryan Arcidiacono, of Neshaminy, made Class AAAA first team, and junior forward Savon Lloyd-Goodman, of Academy of the New Church, made Class A first team. *
