Besides pizzas - made from locally sourced ingredients and available in gluten-free varieties - Bake 425 will sell salads, as well as cookies and an apple crisp that go into the oven as it's cooling down from baking the pizza.
New Horizons
Horizons, the vegan destination on Seventh Street south of South Street, is preparing to move on after five years. Timetable has it remaining open till July Fourth or so. Husband-wife team Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby are preparing to lease a spot in Center City for a new concept based on beautifully prepared vegetables - less focus on the traditional protein at the center of the plate, says Jacoby.
The new owner of the two-story Horizons building will be a wood-fired pizzeria from Tom Grim and Stalin Bedon, who own Nomad Pizza in Hopewell, N.J. No name yet. Grim, aiming for a September opening, promises good beer and affordable wine, and a Stefano Ferrara oven for pie-making.
All's Fare
Fare, a locavore-friendly bar-restaurant in the works for two years, is targeting "before Memorial Day" at 2028 Fairmount Ave. in Fairmount. Owner David Orphanides and general manager Robert Amar are using recycled and repurposed items in the decor, including carpet and paint. Chef is Tim Bellew.
That's not to be confused with Pure Fare (119 S. 21st St.), a health-conscious cafe opening Monday. Pure Fare's dishes all have 500 calories or less. In a novel twist, brother-sister team Kunal and Kriti Sehgal allow customers to create a profile at purefare.com to calculate their calorie intake and expenditure.

Catherine's, the BYOB on Route 82 in Unionville, has added breakfast and lunch (Tuesdays through Saturdays) and Sunday brunch to its dinner hours.
Panchero's Mexican Grill, a franchise location, is new at 225 Greentree Rd., Marlton.
