Pa. jobless rate drops to 7.8%

Pennsylvania's unemployment rate continued to fall in March and now stands a full percentage point below its level a year ago. Last month's jobless rate was 7.8 percent, down 0.2 points from February, the state Department of Labor & Industry reported. The number of Pennsylvania residents with jobs rose by 20,000, while the total unemployed declined by 17,000.    -Paul Schweizer
