Flyers-Sabres: Game 1's three stars

Posted: April 15, 2011

1. RYAN MILLER Miller looked more like the savior of the U.S. Olympic team in Vancouver than the goaltender we've seen over the last few weeks when battling a collarbone injury.

2. JAMES VAN RIEMSDYK: Van Riemsdyk was the Flyers' most active player in the offensive zone, tying for the game's lead with six shots on goal. He played more (18:26) than captain Mike Richards.

3. NATHAN GERBE The series' smallest forward at 5-5, Gerbe was all over the ice for Buffalo in the game's waning minutes and played a big hand in keeping the Sabres' slate clean.
