1OUT OF JAIL FOR ROBBERY, RIGHT BACK IN

ON HOMICIDE RAP

John Kasianczuk thought he was walking out of the State Correctional Institution at Graterford this weekend after serving almost three years on a robbery charge. Instead of walking free, Kasianczuk was arrested - this time for killing a fellow inmate while behind bars, according to prosecutors.

Kasianczuk, 33, of Levittown, beat a new inmate, Roberto Avalle, on Aug. 22 as the two were in an outdoor recreation cage, court documents said. After knocking Avalle to the ground, Kasianczuk allegedly stomped on his head, police said.

Avalle, who was serving a two-to-five-year sentence, remained unconscious until his death on Oct. 9. A coroner ruled Avalle's death a homicide on April 12, and Kasianczuk was arrested Saturday as he was preparing to leave the prison, prosecutors said.

2DOZENS OF DOGS TAKEN FROM CHESCO HOME

The Chester County SPCA yesterday found 54 dogs, mostly puppies, in a home that was operating illegally as a kennel, authorities said. After receiving a tip call, the SPCA saw poor conditions in the home on Crumley Avenue in Malvern, including several Yorkies, Chihuahuas, shih tzus and bichon frises that were crammed into crates in a dark room with no ventilation. Charges of animal cruelty and operating an unlicensed kennel were expected to be filed against the

homeowner, whom a source close to the investigation identified as Yvonne Tikkala.

4CHARGES FILED IN MONTCO HOME INVASION

Police in Cheltenham Township have charged a man in connection with a January 2010 home-invasion robbery and assault thanks to DNA evidence left behind at the scene. Cheltenham detectives turned DNA evidence over to State Police, who identified Rodney Johnson, of West Oak Lane, as a suspect in the violent robbery.

On Jan. 23, 2010, police said, Johnson broke through the front window of an elderly couple's home on the 1600 block of Beech Avenue, beat them severely, robbed them and ran away. Johnson was charged with robbery, burglary and aggravated assault, and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. However, the man is already doing time in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility for an armed robbery he committed in Cheltenham Township in May.
