Passerby finds woman slashed, unresponsive in Frankford

Police are trying to identify a woman who was found slashed and unconscious on a street near the Frankford Transportation Center.

A passerby discovered the woman on the 5300 block of Frankford Avenue about 11:30 p.m. and called 911, police said.

Police said the woman was bleeding from multiple lacerations to the head and body.

Medics took her first to Aria Health's Frankford hospital but she was transferred to Aria's Torresdale campus, where she was reported in critical condition.

The woman is black, about 30 to 40 years old with a heavy build, police said.
