The late Katharine Danner, born Katharine Kile, was once married to violin maker William Moennig Jr., whose world-famous Rittenhouse Square violin shop remained in his family for nearly 100 years until it closed last year.
Another granddaughter is actress Katherine Moennig, who starred on Showtime's "The L Word."
Reached last night, Katherine's mother, Mary Zahn, a former Broadway dancer, declined to comment on Paltrow's slur of her late mother-in-law, the mother of her late husband Bill Moennig 3rd.

* Sean "Diddy" Combs turned heads as
he strolled through the Borgata lobby on his way to his suite at the Water Club over the weekend. The rap mogul crashed at the hotel after his Diddy Dirty Money show at House of Blues and after hosting a party at the C5 club inside the Chelsea.
* Michael Vick and his kids stopped by Dave & Buster's (325 N. Columbus) the other night for food and games.
* Mayor Nutter performed "Rapper's Delight," by Sugarhill Gang, Tuesday night at Time (1315 Sansom), where he had several drinks during the open-mike night with drummer Peter Gaudioso and guitarist Marc Lomax.
Marlton guy is in 'Memphis'
Marlton-native actor Bryan Langlitz is part of the cast of the Broadway show "Memphis," composed by Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan. "American Idol" winner Kris Allen performs Tuesday at Esperanza Academy Charter High School, in North Philadelphia, in conjunction with the local nonprofit Artists and Musicians of Latin America and the Berklee City Music Network. It's for students only.
Cartoon drops Schoolly D tune
The Cartoon Network's "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is turning into "Aqua Unit Patrol Squad" and changing its theme song, which for years has been a rhyme by Philly hip-hop pioneer Schoolly D. Paste magazine reports that the new theme is a rock tune by Queens of the Stone Age/Kyuss frontman Josh Homme and Alain Johannes.
Garces hires former Starr guy
After a year away from the business, Jon Friedman, a former director of restaurants for Stephen Starr's Starr Restaurant Organization, has been hired as director of operations for Starr rival Jose Garces' Garces Restaurant Group.
_ St. Joe's basketball coach, Phil Martelli, hosts the 2011 Martelli Games tonight at Dave & Buster's in Plymouth Meeting. The event puts teams from companies around the region against each other to benefit the nonprofit Developmental Enterprises Corp. (DEC). Helping Martelli coach will be Drexel coach Bruiser Flint; 610 WIP's Rhea Hughes; Cindy Griffin, coach of the St. Joe's women's team; and veteran coach Theresa Grentz, a member of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. The public is invited to watch from 7 to 8.
