S. Jersey Girls: Eustace's McGeehan gets 100th hit, but Paul VI gets win

Paul VI spotted host Bishop Eustace a 4-1 lead before rallying to win, 10-6, spoiling the milestone of Macie McGeehan's 100th career hit for the Crusaders in Olympic Conference softball on Monday.

The Eagles scored three runs in each of the last three innings, paced by two hits each from Brielle Pietrafesa (two RBIs) and winning pitcher Victoria Farrell.

McGeehan, a senior shortstop, went 3 for 3 with an RBI, including a two-run homer in the third inning for her 100th hit.

Also in the Olympic, Camden Catholic's Laura Messina struck out 18 and lost a perfect game with a one-out double in the seventh, capping a 6-0 win at Timber Creek.

Shawnee rallied from a 5-2 deficit at Cherry Hill East to win, 9-5. The Renegades got doubles by Rice Fazio, Kelley Dickson, and Lily Shontz and plated five runs in the seventh inning.

Lisa Kosteleski scored twice, and pitcher Alex Auletto struck out 10 Pennsauken batters in a three-hit shutout as visiting Cherry Hill West prevailed, 3-0.

Tri-County. Kingsway's Dominique Ficara (15-0), who pitched the Dragons to the Hammonton Tournament title with a 10-0, one-hit shutout of Vineland on Sunday, defeated host Clearview, 13-3. Katie Dickson hit a grand slam.

Williamstown needed 10 innings to get past host Cumberland, 1-0. Winning pitcher Tiarra Sanabria lofted a sacrifice fly to plate the run.

Colonial. After giving up two runs and the lead in the top of the seventh, Sterling came back with a run in the bottom of the inning to clip visiting Overbrook, 4-3. Amanda Gardner doubled and scored on Sidney Allen's single.

Alex Gravinese and Devon Coyle each had two hits and two RBIs for Audubon during a 7-3 triumph over visiting Haddon Township.

West Deptford also won by shutout, 8-0, at Haddonfield on the two-hit pitching of Marissa Linquist.

Cape-Atlantic. Kelly Lupton notched 16 strikeouts, one short of her career best, in steering Absegami past visiting Oakcrest, 5-0. Lupton allowed four hits and Christina Lee went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

 

Lacrosse

Rancocas Valley rallied from a three-goal deficit in the second half to force overtime and edged visiting New Egypt, 11-10. Trish Brown led the Red Devils with three goals.

West Deptford's 12-8 win over visiting Collingswood featured 23 saves by goalie Paige Ennis and five goals from Emily Whalin.
