Feared kidnapped, Montco girl found dead

Skylar Kauffman, a 9-year-old girl who disappeared Monday from Souderton Borough in Montgomery County, has been found dead, say Souderton Police.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office has not issued an official statement, but police confirm that the Amber Alert issued late last night has been canceled and that Skylar's body was found around midnight.

Officials said the girl was last seen playing in the parking lot of an apartment complex about 5:30 p.m. on 2nd Street near Chestnut.

She is described as white, 4 feet 6 inches tall, 72 pounds with a medium build, dark brown hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing a yellow Justin Bieber T-shirt and black yoga pants at the time.

Officials urge anyone with information about the missing girl to call 9-1-1.
