Comcast annual meeting lasts 35 minutes

May 11, 2011|By Bob Fernandez, INQUIRER STAFF WRITER

In what seemed like a lightning round, the Comcast Corp. annual shareholders meeting this morning opened and closed in 35 minutes at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the shortest in years.

Attended by about 50 people, the meeting saw only one shareholder with a comment, someone asking for more information on how many meetings individual directors attended during the year.

In the past, the Comcast shareholders' meetings lasted for more than an hour and were prolonged by comments from shareholders about Comcast's practices related to labor unions, executive compensation, customer service and other issues.

Story continues below.

Brian Roberts, the company's chief executive officer, reviewed Comcast's financial performance for 2010 and its acquisition of NBC Universal Inc. He said he thought the company was on the path to "radically" improve customer service.
