Ches-Mont League athletic directors are expected to issue a decision Thursday on a protest by West Chester East after its National Division baseball game Monday against Downingtown East.
In the last game of the regular season, Downingtown East appeared to have a 5-4 victory and its first division crown in school history. But after the game, Vikings coach Dean Owens filed the protest, claiming that Matt Ternowchek, who pitched the seventh inning against the Vikings, was not eligible to pitch.
