MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER

Chicago Fire (1-3-5) at Union (4-3-2)

Saturday, 8 p.m., at PPL Park. TV: Comcast SportsNet.

   Most recent game: The Union dropped a 2-0 decision at FC Dallas last Saturday. Also on Saturday, visiting Chicago played Toronto to a 2-2 draw.

   Outlook: Chicago overcame a 2-0 halftime lead against Toronto. It was the fourth straight draw for the Fire and the fifth consecutive game played by goalkeeper Jon Conway, a graduate of Sun Valley. Chicago tied the score on a goal in the 76th minute by Orr Barouch. It was his first MLS goal. Marco Pappa also scored for the Fire, his fourth of the season. That ties the team lead along with midfielder Diego Chaves.

   The Union have scored one goal in their last three games (0-2-1). For the season, they have scored six goals and allowed six. Chicago has scored 12 goals, but allowed 15. The Union are 3-0-2 at PPL Park, while Chicago is 0-2-3 on the road.

WOMEN'S PROFESSIONAL SOCCER

Independence (2-1-1) at Boston Breakers (2-4)

Sunday, 4 p.m., at Harvard Stadium.

   Most recent game: The Independence won at Atlanta, 2-1, on Sunday. Boston dropped a 3-2 decision on May 13 at Western New York.

   Outlook: The Independence have won two in a row and last week overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit. In addition, the Independence were reduced to 10 players after defender Kia McNeill received a red card in the 13th minute. The Independence received goals from Estelle Johnson and Laura del Rio. Six different players have scored for the balanced Independence. Boston has scored eight and surrendered nine goals

   This is the second game between the two teams. On May 8, the Independence scored a 2-0 win over visiting Boston in their home opener at Widener University. Boston has lost two in a row and four of five.
