Despite pleas, Teddy can't deliver a win

WASHINGTON - They did not let Teddy win for the 394th straight race.

Despite the recent urging of Jayson Werth, a prediction from a Washington broadcaster, and a handful of clues that led some to believe Theodore Roosevelt would win the presidents race at Nationals Park for the first time ever, old Bull Moose finished dead last. Abe Lincoln won it Monday.

Werth showed his disgust from the home dugout. He looked up to see Teddy in last halfway through the race and waved his right arm in disdain.

There's even a website, blog.letteddywin.com, devoted to the cause. They continue to soldier on after Monday's disappointing result.
