COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Danny Mwanga scored a 66th-minute equalizer after Colorado's Conor Casey converted a penalty shot in the 63d minute Saturday night, to lift the Union to a 1-1 tie with the Rapids.
The result allowed Colorado (4-3-7) to match a Major League Soccer record with its sixth consecutive tie.
Casey's goal came after the Rapids defense blocked a Jordan Harvey shot and Colorado quickly pushed the ball deep into the Union zone. Pablo Mastroeni was leveled in the scoring area, setting up the penalty kick. Casey faked Union keeper Faryd Mondragon to his knees to score.
