Drexel University students trended toward slim-fitting silhouettes in vibrant colors and monochromatic nudes Saturday afternoon in the school's end-of-year fashion show at Urban Outfitters' Navy Yard headquarters.

Among the most interesting of the bunch was Caroline Tuerk's senior collection that featured earth-toned pieces layered with suspenders. A green distressed pant and navy jacket with metallic lining not only was appealing-looking, but its surprise flashiness worked well. The collection won a new modern ready-to-wear award named for local designer Bela Shehu. Kudos.

Nicole Parisi's sky-blue bandeau dress was a true standout - she won the Abercrombie & Fitch award for technical excellence. Elaine Lubaszka's grouping of knits in muted greens and yellows also was noteworthy as she successfully incorporated a menswear feel into a very feminine collection of dresses, pants, and tiered skirts.

But fashionistas are still bowing to Prisca Milliance's collection of leather dresses, long coats, and lace-up pants featuring camel shades and metallic cut-outs. Milliance cinched the award for the most creative graduate collection, and rightly so.
