The North Korean Taekwondo Demonstration Team will be in Collingswood Tuesday evening for a rare American performance.

The State Department okayed a brief visit by the elite martial arts team as part of a goodwill exchange between taekwondo practitioners in both countries. This is only the second time the group has visited the U.S., their first tour was in 2007.

The team of 14 athletes will perform in Boston and New York City this weekend, then at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood Tuesday at 7 p.m., said Ken MacKenzie, who owns several martial arts studios in South Jersey and helped coordinate the visit.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are available through Ticketmaster. For more information, please contact event host Ken MacKenzie at MacKenzie's Martial Arts at (856) 346-1111.
