Eagles linebacker Akeem Jordan, a Harrisonburg, Va., native, was arrested early Sunday in Harrisonburg and charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, according to the Harrisonburg Police Department.
The story was first reported in the Daily News-Record of Harrisonburg.
According to the police report, Jordan, 25, was arrested hours after an incident in the parking lot of a bar. He was released on his own recognizance on Monday.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pounder was signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2007 and played four seasons with the Eagles. He was not tendered a contract after last season.
