Cigna Corp., the Philadelphia health insurer, has appointed Ralph J. Nicoletti executive vice president and chief financial officer. He will be responsible for the company's financial operations and functions, and its investment-management and strategic-planning units. Most recently, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Alberto-Culver Inc., Chicago.

Lattice Inc., a Pennsauken provider of software to government agencies and enterprise customers, said that Ralph Alexander, chief executive officer of the recently acquired CLR Group, had been appointed CEO of the firm's government-services division.

EwingCole Inc., a Philadelphia architecture, engineering and interior-design firm, said Robert Curtin had joined the firm as principal of corporate development. Curtin had been the founding principal of Curtin Design Group, the vice president of development - design and construction for Showboat Development Co., and the principal - hospitality for the Hillier Group.

Deacom Inc., a Wayne producer of enterprise resource-planning software systems, said Amanda Mackedanz had been promoted to vice president of sales. Mackedanz had been a senior product consultant.

Joseph W. Valerio has joined TD Insurance Inc., a TD Bank N.A. subsidiary, as senior vice president - regional sales manager for the Mid-Atlantic region, based in Mount Laurel. Valerio previously was a managing director for Wells Fargo Insurance Services in Philadelphia, and had been an offensive lineman with the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs.

TD Bank also named Wade C. Jacobson director in corporate credit management in New York. The Newtown resident had held various positions within TD Securities and had been a vice president in the real estate lending unit at Manufacturers Hanover Bank & Trust Co.

Peter's Place, a nonprofit center for grieving children and families, said Carrie Miluski had been appointed executive director. She joined the organization in 2006 as program director and was appointed interim executive director in the spring of 2010.

Conestoga Bank said Larry Frank had been appointed vice president, Small Business Administration lending in the Feasterville office. He had been a commercial lending officer at Public Savings Bank, Huntingdon Valley.

Worldwide Clinical Trials Inc., a King of Prussia provider of clinical-research services, has named Gerald Messerschmidt vice president, oncology medical affairs. Messerschmidt most recently was vice president, clinical development at Talon Therapeutics Inc., formerly Hana Biosciences.

Chris Carmolingo has been promoted to chief operating officer of Trico Lift, a Millville, N.J., aerial-lift company, from executive vice president.

KMcCabe Capital Managers Ltd., a King of Prussia investment management and advisory-services firm, has hired Mark E. McCarron as vice president, chief investment strategist. Most recently, he was managing director, global head of client investment strategy at SEI Investments Co. and was lead investment strategist to SEI's largest global clients.
