Dan Gross: Riding to raise AIDS $

Posted: July 21, 2011

YOU CAN CATCH model Tyson Beckford and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who now stars in TNT's "Franklin & Bash," but will forever be known as Zack Morris of "Saved by the Bell," outside

Kiehl's (18th & Walnut) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 1. They are just two of the motorcycle riders in Kiehl's LifeRide for amfAR, an AIDS research organization, that begins its ride from the store.

Former "Top Chef" contestant Jennifer Carroll, who runs the Ritz-Carlton's 10 Arts by Eric Ripert, will host the event.

The ride is expected to raise at least $100,000 for amFAR. Kiehl's president, Chris Salgarrdo, and ESPN host Alain de Cadenet lead the cycle ride.

The riders will also visit Southwest Philly's Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum of classic race cars before taking

off on their seven-day trek, which includes stops in Boston and New York.

At the store on Aug. 1, Carroll will serve some of her 10 Arts fare, and other vendors will provide food and drinks. Kiehl's will make a donation to amFAR for every customer who comes into the store that day. For more info, visit kiehlsgives.com or amfar.org.

Looking for gym addicts

Sue Golden, who for 15 years owned Stiletto (18th & Sansom), is venturing out of fashion and into reality television. She is casting men and women who are addicted to working out for a reality show called "Gym Ratsz."

Golden says she has partnered with a

local television producer (she wouldn't say who) and seeks "charismatic drama kings and queens who are addicted to working out" and chronicling "how it affects their life." Interested? Go to gymratsz.com for submission information. You'll need to send a photo and video of your workout on DVD. Submissions are due July 31.

Their words are gospel

Gospel singers Vickie Winans and Kurt Carr headline a Monday-night concert at Impacting Your World Christian Church in Cherry Hill. It marks the 10th anniversary of BlackGospelPromo.com and the birthday of the site's founder, Veda Brown.
