More than a year after calling celebrity fight promoter Damon Feldman a "sleaze" during an interview with Fox 29, local Fraternal Order of Police president John McNesby is being sued for defamation.
It all started with a celebrity boxing match Feldman was promoting in April 2010.
Feldman said the match was to honor Officer John Pawlowski, who was killed in the line of duty in February 2009. But Pawlowski's family wasn't notified and they didn't want his name associated with the event.
Feldman dropped Pawlowski's name from the title days before the fight, which featured Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael. Soon after, Feldman was charged by the state attorney general for promoting without a license and fixing fights.
Feldman's fights have also included Tonya Harding, Rodney King and Jose Canseco.
"The guy's a zero, it is what it is," McNesby said yesterday, referring additional questions to his attorney Jimmy Binns.
In court documents, Feldman's attorney, Robert Busch of West Chester, said his client has suffered injury to his good name and reputation.
Feldman, of Broomall, is seeking a minimum of $50,000 and court costs. His suit was filed in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court.
