Award for Pamela Browner White
Pamela Browner White, executive director of the Marian Anderson Award, will be presented with the President's Award during the NAACP Theatre Awards at the Directors Guild of America on Aug. 29 in Los Angeles. The President's Award recognizes an individual who has improved a local community through social action and corporate leadership.
White, a native of Buckingham Township, formerly was senior veep of public affairs and government relations with the Eagles. She was the first minority woman to hold a vice president position in the NFL.

CBS has hired Robert De Niro to host its commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, 9/11: 10 Years Later, which updates Jules and Gedeon Naudet and James Hanlon's 2002 film 9/11. It'll air Sept. 11.

The Sheepdogs, a Canadian rock outfit you've never heard of, are famous.
The quartet, who hail from Saskatoon, have won Rolling Stone's Do You Wanna Be a Rock & Roll Star?, a battle of the bands at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee, which has the awesomest prize: appearing on the cover of the rock mag.
"The biggest thing is . . . just being able to tell everybody," frontman Ewan Currie says.
The win already has paid off: The unsigned band has been picked up by Atlantic Records. The Sheepdogs beat out 15 other acts, including runner-up, singer-songwriter Lelia Broussard.
