Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder said that Patterson will meet with team internist Gary Dorshimer and that a return in the next few days might be too optimistic.
"As the guy responsible for Mike, I have to pull the reins back on that and make sure we're thorough and we know exactly what we have before we turn him back in there," Burkholder said.
Rickert has said Patterson has not received a final diagnosis and will continue talking to doctors. Burkholder reiterated the team's belief that Patterson's seizure was likely brought on by an arteriovenous malformation in his brain.
Wideouts out
DeSean Jackson is still holding out - the team wants him in camp before it will negotiate with him - and Jeremy Maclin is here but not practicing, leaving the offense without two of its top playmakers.
"I miss both of them, but I've just got to work with the guys that I've got and make the most of it," quarterback Michael Vick said.
Maclin has an undisclosed illness. Coach Andy Reid said Maclin is still undergoing tests and declined to comment further on Maclin's condition.
Jackson faces a decision soon. Under league rules, he must report by Tuesday to qualify for unrestricted free agency after the season. Eagles president Joe Banner confirmed the date.
Jackson is believed to want a new contract as he enters the final season of the four-year deal he signed as a rookie in 2008. He has not spoken publicly since the start of camp. A message left with his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was not returned Friday.
Vick told WPEN-FM (97.5) that he believed his top receiver will "make the right decision" and get in camp by Tuesday.
That could spur negotiations with the Eagles. The team does not negotiate with players who hold out, and they won't break the rule in this case, a team source said.
