On Tuesday night, Smith introduced Nas and Damian Marley at their Electric Factory concert and spent the show dancing on the side of the stage with Jaden.
Swanky hangs tough
Old City's Swanky Bubbles will be seen at 10 p.m. Sunday on Spike TV's "Bar Rescue." Host
Jon Taffer spent a week at Swanky (10 S. Front St.) and advised the bar on how to become more female-friendly.
The bar consultant and host told us that he suggested changing the menu, installing a new bar and creating an atmosphere appropriate for a "girls' night out."
We told him that word around town was that Swanky had ignored most of his changes - including renaming the place Sheer - and asked if he felt scammed.
"Not at all," he said. "I went in with the intent to do a good job, and I did a good job. My job is to clean up the boat. If an owner chooses to drive it into a reef, that's their choice."
Witt at World Cafe
Actress
Alicia Witt, who was just seen on the "Friday Night Lights" finale, is also a singer/songwriter. That's what brings her to World Cafe Live (3025 Walnut) Wednesday.
The redheaded beauty is a classically trained pianist and displayed her musical prowess in episodes of "Twin Peaks," "Cybill" and "Ally McBeal."
Among tracks on her new EP, which is out on iTunes, is a cover of Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al," which she calls a "dark, gorgeous song." While she is touring with her music, Witt's no slouch in the acting department. She has four movies that are about to open either in festivals or theaters: "Bending the Rules," with Upper Darby's Jamie Kennedy; "The Boarding House"; "Cowgirls N' Angels"; and "Joint Body."
