  • You can bank on Mickey bringing in $1,000 to $2,000 at Morphy's. The "Calamity" bank, below, could bring $8,000 to $12,000. The sale features 90 banks.

Two online auctions ending this weekend will offer stay-at-home bidding on a variety of collectibles, including coins - and toy banks to put them in.

The coins, plus some currency, will be offered by the Auction House Inc., formerly Audubon's Auctioneers, at a sale where online bidding has already begun at www.Auctionzip.com. Live bidding will start at 11 a.m. Saturday at the gallery at 100 W. Merchant St. in Audubon, N.J.

The 70 lots include more than 20 lots of Morgan and Carson City silver dollars, notably an 1889 Carson City "key date," i.e. scarce, with a presale estimate of $300 to $500, and a grouping of 20 turn-of-the-20th-century New Orleans Morgan silver dollars with a presale estimate of $500 to $600; three 20-piece lots of "Walking Liberty" half-dollars, each with a presale estimate of $200 to $300; and a collection of Lincoln pennies identified in the online catalog as being "from 1909 VDB Up" with a presale estimate of $50 to $100. (The estimate seems low since "VDB" stands for the man who designed the 1909 penny coin, another key date, which was in circulation for barely a year and often brings a four-figure price.)

Story continues below.

The top presale estimates, $1,600 to $1,800, are for four $20 gold pieces, two of them Liberty heads, that date to 1883, 1902, 1907, and 1927. The auction also features a half-dozen vintage firearms and postcards, and some Camden memorabilia, notably a glass Camden Fire Insurance Association sign and a grouping of boxes, bags, and bottles. Each lot is expected to bring low two-figure prices.

Online bidding ends at 5 p.m. Friday. For further information call 856-546-7755.

Banks and other toys at Morphy's. The toy banks, both still and mechanical, will be offered by Morphy Auctions at a two-day, 1,100-lot sale Friday and Saturday at its gallery near Reading, along with mechanical toys, marbles, and comic books.

Absentee online bidding, in which the auction house is authorized to do a client's bidding, has already begun through Morphy's website, www.morphyauctions.com. Although that form ends at 9:45 p.m. Friday, live online bidding will be offered throughout the auction, both at Morphy's website and at www.liveauctioneers.com.

The 90 banks will be offered at the first session, beginning at 10 a.m. Friday. Among still banks are a cast-iron Captain Kidd model with a presale estimate of $600 to $900 and a French cast-iron Disney Mickey Mouse with a presale estimate of $1,000 to $2,000.
