Dresher's Kalia Booker heads to Los Angeles and "Big Brother"

August 15, 2011

Who: A star newbie on "Big Brother," airing Wednesdays at 8 p.m., Thursdays at 9 p.m. and Sundays at 8 p.m. on CBS.

Age: 30

From: Dresher, Montgomery County

Now: Los Angeles

What's up: Earned Head of Household power last week, making enemies along the way.

Local angle: A graduate of Upper Dublin High School and a onetime competitor in Miss Philadelphia, this self-proclaimed Carrie Bradshaw (she's a stylish relationship blogger) fibbed about her age, saying she was 27.

Story continues below.

Back home: Her mom, Naomi Johnson-Booker, is CEO of Global Leadership Academy, the West Philly charter school that was destroyed by fire in January.

Rumors: Since the show airs in

real time (almost), no way to tell if Kalia will go home with $500,000. One thing's for sure: If she wants to conquer all, she'd better quit crying and start conniving.
