The Sixers will open the preseason against the Boston Celtics in Providence, R.I., on Oct. 10, if the NBA and the players can reach a new collective bargaining agreement by then. The league announced its preseason schedule yesterday in a move that sounds like wishful thinking.
The Sixers will host the Knicks on Oct. 11 at the Wells Fargo Center and Washington on Oct. 17. They will face New Jersey in Trenton on Oct. 13. They play road games Oct. 19 against Boston in Amherst, Mass.; Oct. 20 at New Jersey; and Oct. 24 against Cleveland in Columbus.
