Camden County towns get most of police aid

August 25, 2011

Municipalities in Camden County received $327,384, the most of any county in South Jersey, of federal law enforcement grants announced Wednesday.

Camden, Cherry Hill, Gloucester Township, Lindenwold, Pennsauken, and Winslow will share the money. In Burlington County, Willingboro received $15,389, and in Gloucester County, Deptford and Washington Township will share $28,425.

The money comes as towns are cutting police budgets to come in line with Gov. Christie's 2 percent property-tax cap. - James Osborne
