  • Nope, no nups for us, says Angelina Jolie, and no new kids, either, for her and Brad Pitt. What is new is her film writing-directing debut.

Mark well: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have not been conjoined in a "secret wedding," nor do they plan to be anytime soon, Jolie insists. What's more, there are no new Brangelina-bambinos on the way, by birth or adoption.

Jolie shares of her soul in the October Vanity Fair, telling the mag that she's nervous about how her first effort as writer-director will be received. Jolie's auteur-ian debut, the Bosnian war love story In the Land of Blood and Honey, is due Dec. 23.

How will being a director affect her work as an actor? "Brad thinks I'm going to be a nightmare," she says. "I had such a good experience he thinks I'm going to be impatient with directors, which I already am."

A '60s style statement?

Actress Daryl Hannah and a gaggle of nonfamous protesters were arrested Tuesday after refusing orders from the U.S. Park Police to move away from the sidewalk in front of the White House. The sit-in was protesting the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, which would run from Canada through six states in the Midwest and Southwest to refineries in Houston and Port Arthur, Texas.

The Li to the Lo to the Brown?

The blogosphere is in fever! Lindsay Lohan and Chris Brown have been flirting on Twitter, Gawker reveals. LiLo, an Olympic gold medalist in substance abuse, tweeted that Chris "killed it" at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday. Chris, who pleaded guilty in '09 to assaulting ex-gf Rihanna, batted his eyelashes by retweeting LiLo's tweet. LiLo's response: "Wanna meet?" Talk about a recipe for disaster.

Rachael Ray takes Philly

Rachael Ray and crew on Tuesday took over the South Philly crossroads of Passyunk Avenue and Wharton Street, site of a newly constructed community garden behind Pat's Steaks, to shoot a grill-themed episode of her talk show.

Results of a grilling contest featuring Douglas Feldman of Williamstown, Sarah Gulish of Philly, and Stephanie Dumpson of New Castle, Del., are secret till late September, when the episode, featuring performances by Patti LaBelle and Boyz II Men, airs.

Roxborough chef on TV

Also in the food game, Christopher Thames of Roxborough's Distinctive Fare Catering is basking in his win on the Aug. 16 episode of the Food Network competition show Chopped.

His entree had to contain sweet vermouth, leeks, French fingerling potatoes, and live diver scallops.
