These roaming mobs destroying property, stealing and harming people are far worse than a spanking. Hopefully, we'll be able to save a few. A slap on the wrist won't work with these kids - they need to be scared straight.

To columnist Marc Hill:
You're right, teens CAN peacefully assemble. But that's not what they're doing. How come the flash mobs don't act up in North and West Philly? Why are they only beating up white defenseless people 95 percent of the time? Marc, your articles do nothing but inflame people.

Re Charles Williams' comments to Jenice Armstrong:
Here we go again. Another black columnist underplaying the severity of these flash mobs. I see - these punks rampaging in the streets of Philadelphia need a hug. I'm sure that'll stop the violence.
Wake up, pal. Hugs don't stop violence, and anyone who thinks they do are sweeping this problem under the carpet. The only thing that will stop these delinquents is jail.

Of protests & formats
Are the protesters just venting because they don't know where their mental-health centers are? Mayor Nutter is doing his best, and so are the police.
And as for the Daily News' "new" format - is Larry Platt trying to make the DN into Philly Mag? With Solomon Jones and Harry Gross, the DN wasn't broken, so why even think that readers would be looking for a paper to replicate the magazine content? You ruined the Daily News!

Attaboy, Daily News!
Good job on the new "V Is for Veg" column gracing the food section. It seems like every third restaurant in Center City and the surrounding neighborhoods is promoting its vegan or vegetarian items, so it's great to be able to read about what the latest and most tasty offerings are, and where to get them.
For the many Philadelphians who like eating vegan (even occasionally), the column is a breath of fresh air.

Revoltin' PPA robots
I heard the Philadelphia Parking Authority accepted the lowest bid on their kiosks, so is stuck with a bunch of malfunctioning robots.
I've lost more than $50 in these machines, many don't accept dollars and some don't accept coins.
Some don't print out tickets and others have the wrong time when compared with the timing device used by the meter maids.

Workers' tribute
Aptly dubbed the Workers' Holiday, the first Monday in September is set aside to pay tribute to the contributions and achievements of the U.S. workforce.
With labor's greatest day upon us, let us walk together in solidarity to show support for the 14 million Americans currently unemployed as we pay tribute to our American workforce, the juggernaut driving our economy while building a better future for our great nation.
