"We Got Your Back."

That's what written across the front of a helmet that the Seneca football team sent to Mainland as a show of support to the Mustangs.

The gold helmet is signed by Seneca players and coaches.

"We wanted to show them South Jersey was thinking about them," Seneca coach Bill Fisher said.

South Jersey football programs have rallied around Mainland as the school, football team, and community struggle with the Aug. 20 automobile accident that killed four Mainland football players.

Every team in the Cape-Atlantic League will wear a helmet sticker of a horseshoe – to represent Mainland's Mustangs – as a show of support.

Timber Creek is wearing helmet stickers that read, "Mainland Regional Mustangs" and show the uniform numbers of the four players who were killed.

Several schools are planning moments of silence before Friday night's season openers.

"The outpouring has been overwhelming," Mainland athletic director Mike Gately said. "There are just so many class acts out there who have reached out to us."
