Bensalem manhunt ends in N. Philadelphia

* 21st Street and Lehigh Avenue, North Philadelphia

A 36-hour manhunt led police from Bensalem to Philadelphia yesterday to arrest Dennis Pipkin, 28, who allegedly assaulted and kidnapped his estranged wife with the help of another man, then sexually assaulted her in a Bensalem motel room on Sunday.

Police said that Pipkin, of Feltonville, and the unidentified man attacked the woman while she was on her way to work. Pipkin held a stun gun and box cutter to the woman's body while he sexually assaulted her, police said.

Pipkin tied the woman up in his car after the motel-room assault, then dropped her off near her home, police said. Bensalem police yesterday announced that Pipkin had been arrested at a McDonald's on Lehigh Avenue near 21st, in North Philadelphia.

Pipkin was awaiting trial for a gunpoint carjacking in Bensalem, officials said.

The unidentified man did not participate in the sexual assault, police said. However, police are asking him to contact the Bensalem Special Victims Unit at 215-633-3687.

Man shot, killed in East Germantown

A 30-year-old man was shot at least four times and killed in East Germantown last night in what police say may have been a drug-related incident.

Police took the victim to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:42 p.m., police Chief Inspector Scott Small said. The man lived on the block where he was gunned down, police said.

Man shot dead inside truck

* Cambridge Street near 38th, West Philadelphia

A man was shot dead yesterday inside a truck in West Philadelphia, police said.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:12 p.m., police said. He had been shot once in the head in a truck on the 3800 block of Cambridge Street. Police were seeking a burgundy Pontiac Grand Prix that was seen fleeing the scene.

Fourth sex-attack suspect arrested

* Edgewater Park, N.J.

A fourth man has been arrested in the Oct. 8, 2010, robbery and sexual assault of an Edgewater Park, N.J., woman during a home invasion.

Justin H. Brown, 22, of Willingboro, was arrested Tuesday in Trenton, law-enforcement officials said yesterday.

Brown, charged with aggravated sexual assault, robbery and kidnapping, was being held at the Burlington County Jail on $500,000 bail.

Two men - Michael Jeh, 20, of Willingboro, and Damion Hampton, 18, of Edgewater Park, were arrested within hours of the home invasion. A third man, Ishmail Johnson, 19, also of Willingboro, was arrested on Dec. 10 in Edgewater Park.
