Pa. Boys: Delco Christian wins in OT

Isaac Moore had his way with the Jenkintown defense on Monday afternoon, as the tailback rushed for 175 yards and three scores in Delco Christian's 28-21 overtime Bicentennial League win at Jenkintown.

In the third quarter, Moore's 38-yard scamper tied the game at 21-21. He then scored on a 10-yard rush in overtime to clinch the win for the Knights. With 17 rushes, Moore averaged a little over 10 yards per carry including a 71-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Jenkintown scored 15 points in the third quarter. Blaise Coggin returned an interception for a touchdown to put the Drakes ahead, 21-14, before Moore made it even. Ted Hudson rushed for 71 yards and also was successful on field-goal tries of 24 and 23 yards.

Octorara 40, Big Spring 28 - Dan Solomon threw for five touchdowns, two of them to Charles Cooper, as Octorara (2-0) rolled to a win over host Big Spring. Cooper also added a 75-yard kick return for a touchdown. Anthony Dinorscia also hauled in two touchdowns.

 

Soccer

Prep Charter scored three goals in the second half as they rallied to a 3-2 win over host Frankford in a Public League matchup. Eli Ramos scored the game winner in the 75th minute from 20 yards out. Frankford junior Mustafa Alghazzawi recorded his fifth goal of the season.

In other Public League action, Willie Geebli scored two goals and Bartram rolled to a 5-1 win over host Lincoln.

Serge Chegoclaya scored twice as Central rallied in the second half to knock off host Masterman, 4-2. The team's were tied, 2-2, at halftime. Spencer Dunleavy and Harry Taggart both scored for Masterman.

Nonleague. Strath Haven and visiting Germantown Academy exchanged second- half goals and remained tied through overtime on their way to a 1-1 tie. Nick Dudek opening the scoring 10 minutes into the second half for the Panthers.

Miles Bernhard scored twice to lead visiting Church Farm past Perkiomen School, 3-0.

Trailing by a goal with under 10 minutes to play, David Goldberg scored the equalizer as Methacton clawed back to tie visiting Cheltenham, 1-1. Goldberg was assisted by Max Sarenwald. Luke Herber scored for Methacton in the first half.

Tri-County. Ben Jaron and Darren Joffe both scored two goals as Barrack Hebrew used seven different goal scorers to easily beat visiting Woodlynde, 9-0. Jacob Reich had four saves for the shutout.

Suburban One. Ian McDade scored in the first half and Sam Brodovsky found the net two minutes into overtime as Plymouth Whitemarsh knocked off host Upper Moreland, 2-1.
