Holy Spirit baseball coach Keith Gorman has resigned to become the coach at Cumberland County College.

Gorman, who led Holy Spirit to a 25-5 record last season and also was the head coach of the Tri-Cape team in the Carpenter Cup Classic, will remain as Holy Spirit's athletic director.

"It just seemed like the right fit," Gorman said Wednesday. "I wanted to get involved in college coaching, and I was there this summer and was so impressed with their baseball facilities. They are completely redoing their baseball field. When it's done, it's going to be one of the nicest fields in South Jersey.

"Plus, that area has so much baseball talent. I think in a couple years we could really have a good situation there."

Gorman said that Holy Spirit has "opened up" the search for a new baseball coach and that two of his assistants will be given consideration.
