A 44-year-old woman was killed and a child was injured when a car jumped the curb and struck them on the sidewalk Monday afternoon on Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia, police said.
The accident occurred at 2:46 p.m. on the boulevard in the area of Pennypack Park, police said. A Rider truck cut off a Toyota Camry, which then jumped the curb and hit the woman and child.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:53 p.m., police siad. The child, who is about 3 to 5 years old, was transported to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and was reported in stable condition. The driver of the Camry, who was not hurt, stopped at the scene of the accident, police said. The driver of the Rider truck did not.
