After weeks of uncertainty, the longtime head of Chester County's Republican Party has resigned to take a seat on the state Liquor Control Board.
Joseph A. "Skip" Brion was tapped by the Corbett administration in July to serve on the liquor board, prompting questions about whether he would keep the county post he's held for nearly a decade.
Brion, who made his resignation official last week, is appearing this afternoon at a hearing in Harrisburg before the Senate Law and Justice Committee, an initial step in the confirmation process, he said.
A lawyer who has served on the Delaware Regional Finance Authority since 1988, Brion was re-elected chairman of the Chester County GOP in June 2010.
