Are Pagan's possessive?

Posted: September 28, 2011

THE "PAGAN'S Motorcycle Club" was formed in Maryland in 1959 by Lou Dobkins. Though Dobkins was supposedly a biochemist, he wasn't a stickler for punctuation. Pagans insist that the apostrophe in their top "rocker" patch is correct. They're not fixing it and no one outside the club is really sure what it means. It could mean that the club belongs to each individual Pagan, or maybe it (or they) belongs to the chief Pagan, their dark lord Surtr.

Either way, most law-enforcement sources think they just screwed up and never fixed it.

And their archrivals are just as bad, but in reverse: the Hells Angels rockers leave off the apostrophe.
