'Skip' Duffy dies; coached at Wood

John "Skip" Duffy, who coached Archbishop Wood High to a pair of Catholic League football championships in an 8-year stint, died Thursday after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Duffy went 62-25-2 overall from 1973-80, with crowns in 1974 and '78. The '74 squad added a City Title triumph, while his '80 team advanced to the CL final. His overall record was 62-25-2.
