Thurs. S.J. boys' and girls' roundup: Kay earns 100th win

Haddon Township girls' soccer coach Jim Kay celebrated his 100th career victory on Thursday, when the host Hawks leveled Lindenwold, 6-0, in a Colonial Conference match.

Kim Gaskill led the way with two goals and one assist, and Erin Butrica set up a pair of scores. Lindenwold goalie Kara Crocker made 12 saves.

In other Colonial Conference games:

Apryle Panyi had a hat trick while Jenna Rizzo and Mady Lord added two goals apiece to send Audubon to an 8-0 win at Paulsboro.

Taylor Nichols produced a goal and two assists for host Haddon Heights, which seized control early in cruising past Overbrook, 6-0.

Olympic. Brittany Ratcliffe (two goals) led a half-dozen players in the scoring column for second-ranked Paul VI, and goalie Stephanie Verna faced just one shot as the host Eagles crushed Camden Catholic, 7-0.

Burlington County. Caroline Eckerle dished out a pair of assists, one of which led to Kerri Hinkelmon's first goal of the season, and Melissa Bishop (seven saves) was solid in the nets as Holy Cross won, 2-0, at Rancocas Valley.

Megan Hadfield scored twice for Pemberton, which took command in the second half to pull away to a 4-1 win at Palmyra.

Kacie Booth turned aside 12 shots, and Allison Vallen set up two goals, keying Maple Shade's 3-0 home win over Willingboro.

Tri-County. Chelsea Abhau paced Pennsville's offense with two goals, and Brielyn Hackett chipped in a goal and an assist in a 7-0 romp at Gloucester.

Penn-Jersey. Elena Zangerle orchestrated Doane Academy's attack, scoring twice and setting up a pair of goals in a 5-2 triumph at Girard College.

 

Boys' Soccer

Nick Sample took his role of playmaker to another level, assisting on six goals, while Adam Coyle, Travis Ward, and Peter Zariello each scored twice in New Egypt's 7-0 home win over Willingboro in the Burlington County League.

In another Burlco match, Charles Wheaton had two goals, Emmanuel Temeh contributed a goal and an assist, and Trenton Catholic keeper Simeon Donzon stopped five shots as the host Iron Mikes blanked Burlington City, 3-0.

Tri-County. Tom Schneigel popped in a pass from Jason Coles midway through the first overtime period, allowing host Kingsway to hand Woodstown its first loss of the season, 1-0. Jimmy Amorebella stopped five shots in shutting down the Wolverines.

Host Pennsville used a pair of goals by C.J. Braxter to put away Gloucester, 3-0. The Lions could not get any of their six shots past Eagles netminder Sean Diggerness.
