Chesco controller becomes county GOP leader

Posted: October 09, 2011

Val DiGiorgio, the Chester County controller, was chosen Saturday to become the county's Republican Party chairman.

DiGiorgio is replacing Joseph E. "Skip" Brion, whom Gov. Corbett has nominated to the Liquor Control Board. DiGiorgio, a lawyer with Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young L.L.P., was reelected controller in 2009.

DiGiorgio also had served as chief of staff for former State Sen. Melissa Hart (R., Allegheny) and is a member of the county party's executive committee.

Brion, managing partner at the law firm of Buckley, Brion, McGuire, Morris & Sommer, was nominated for the LCB in July.
