S. Jersey Girls: Taylor Lewis sets a Willingboro scoring record with 104 goals, but Bordentown wins the girls' soccer game

Taylor Lewis became Willingboro's all-time leading scorer in girls' soccer, but visiting Bordentown spoiled the celebration by beating the Chimeras, 2-1, in a Burlington County League match on Monday.

Lewis' 104th career goal was scored in the first half as she eclipsed the two-decade old mark of 103.

The Scotties matched Lewis' goal with a score by Alexis McTamney, and Kaylee Creegan knocked in the deciding goal on a direct kick with 10 minutes to go in the second half.

Also in Burlington County, Rancocas Valley and visiting Burlington Township played to a 1-1 draw. The Falcons' Carin Arline scored in the 45th minute from Maddie Kiem, and RV answered 15 minutes later with Jess Brownell converting Julie Spracklin's pass.

Maple Shade blanked visiting Burlington City, 2-0, as Allie Vallen scored a pair of first-half goals, and goalie Kacie Booth made nine saves.

Palmyra's 4-1 win at Westampton Tech featured Rachel VanArtsdalen's two goals and Lauren Smith's penalty-kick goal.

Nonleague. Melissa Gall had two saves in goal and also scored a goal as one of five Cherokee players who contributed a score to a 5-0 win at Winslow Township.

 

Field Hockey

For the second time in eight days, Lenape used an overtime goal to pin a one-goal loss on host Cherry Hill East in the Olympic Conference.

The Indians' 2-1 triumph was secured by Lauren Thomas' goal off a penalty corner 2:15 into the extra period.

Thomas also assisted on Lexi Cordivari's first-half goal before East knotted the score in the second half on a goal by Jenni LaGrossa.

Bishop Eustace's Allie Nugent got loose on a first-half breakaway and scored what proved to be the winning goal for Haddonfield in a 3-0 triumph over Rancocas Valley. Tenaya Clark and Megan Johnston also scored goals.

Colonial. Two goals each off the sticks of Morgan Driver and Rachel Strow steered Haddon Heights past host Lindenwold, 5-1. Francesca Rosati and Jordan Paradise contributed one assist each.

Haddon Township overwhelmed visiting Overbrook, 8-0, behind two goals each from Sam Sheehan and Kim Flacco.

Burlington County. Florence netted three goals in each half of a 6-0 shutout against visiting Cinnaminson. Lexi Smith had four goals and an assist, Sarah Spencer scored twice and Kristin Tully added two assists.

New Egypt also notched a 6-0 victory, beating host Palmyra as Courtney Nataliccio scored twice, and Courtney Stillwell added a goal and an assist.

Nonleague. Moorestown sent A. L. Johnson back to Union County with a 4-2 loss. Cally Dougherty had a goal and an assist, and Alexa Massa, Sarah Powell and Kayla Pruitt each chipped in with a goal.

Kate Butulan's three-goal performance highlighted Pemberton's 6-2 win at Winslow Township.
