Daniel V. Dalzell, 76, of Haddonfield, a former executive with Campbell Soup Co. and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, died of pancreatic cancer Sunday, Oct. 9, at home.

Born in Pittsburgh, Mr. Dalzell was a Campbell Soup co-op student at Drexel University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business in 1957.

His wife, Jolyne, said that after working in Campbell's canned-food plant, Mr. Dalzell became a corporate planning analyst there in 1961 and a senior analyst in 1967.

Named manager of Campbell corporate planning in 1969, he became assistant advertising manager for canned food and director of operations for Campbell's eastern regional restaurant division, including Hanover Trail, a chain of 10 steak houses founded in 1973.

He was a restaurant consultant after leaving Campbell and, in the mid-1980s, finance director of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

He retired in 2004 after a dozen years in the finance department of the law firm Archer & Greiner P.C. in Haddonfield.

Mr. Dalzell was a member of the Commission of Social Justice for the Catholic Diocese of Camden and board vice chairman at the Mary H. Thomas Nursery Home in Camden.

A Mason, Mr. Dalzell was a member of the Historical Society of Luzerne County and the Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society in Suffolk, Va.

Besides his wife, Mr. Dalzell is survived by daughter Elizabeth; son David; and four grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be said at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Old St. Joseph's Church, 321 Willings Alley, Philadelphia.
